Hike duration & difficulties
The hike duration corresponds to that of an average walker equipped with a backpack of around 10kg (me!). It excludes long breaks (meals, visits, etc.). Most of the hikes do not present any real difficulties for an average walker.

Risks
The main risk consists of taking roads used by vehicles on a part of the route. This risk has always seemed reasonable to me, in particular because of the limited use of these roads. Nevertheless, it is necessary to be careful as soon as you take this type of roadway.
Another risk is the presence of sometimes aggressive dogs near private properties. Most often attached, they are sometimes free to roam. It is sensible to walk with a stick, in order to keep them away if necessary.

Accomodation
During the middle season, it is quite easy to find an accommodation solution in most stages. In summer, without prior reservation, it is surely more delicate.
Campsites are not numerous, Mani is almost devoid of them for example. Wild camping is prohibited in Greece.

Food
For most of the stages, it is possible to find restaurants and buy food. Hikes sometimes pass through villages with a café, a restaurant and/or a grocery store.
Water : the days can be hot, but leaving with 2-3l of water is enough, since there is usually the possibility of restocking during the hike (groceries, public fountains with drinking water…).

Transport
Most stages are accessible by bus. Public bus transport is provided by local KTEL companies.
In Messinia, the bus transport service is provided by KTEL Messinias. Routes and timetables are available here.
In Laconia, the service is provided by KTEL Lakonias, for which the routes and timetables are available there.

Place names
Place names in the Cyrillic alphabet are written in italics. Their transcription in the Latin alphabet corresponds to that which seemed to me the most used locally, but it is not necessarily unique.
